Remote Backend Developer (Contract, $20-$70/hr)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs. This contract, part‑time position is fully remote, offering flexible hours between 10 and 40 per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in backend development using modern languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data‑modeling principles.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
