Repair Engineer – Structural & Composite Aircraft

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Repair Engineer specialising in structural and composite aircraft repairs. The role is based in Filton and involves delivering repair solutions for in‑service aircraft, with a focus on wing and composite structures.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate customer requests and assess structural damage on in‑service aircraft.
• Author and release Structural Repair Instructions and related approval documentation.
• Lead and execute repair activities within a small engineering team.
• Provide expert support for both minor and major damage cases.
• Develop innovative repair solutions using historical data and technical expertise.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders to ensure timely, high‑quality repairs.
• Support the creation of generic repair procedures to improve fleet efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong experience in aircraft structural repairs, particularly composite work.
• Experience authoring repair instructions and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with metallic and composite materials and non‑destructive testing methods.
• Ideally holds or has held RTE/RT3 approval; A400M or A350 experience is advantageous.
