School Admin Officer (Temporary) – Primary School

About the role
We are seeking a School Admin Officer to join a welcoming primary school near Westhoughton on a temporary basis. The role involves being the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff and visitors, and supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the school office.
Key responsibilities
- Managing front‑of‑house reception duties
- Handling telephone and email enquiries
- Supporting pupil attendance and administrative processes
- Maintaining accurate school records
- Liaising with parents, staff and external agencies
- Providing general administrative support to the school leadership team
Required profile
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a school environment
- Basic knowledge of SIMS and/or Arbor (desirable)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong customer service experience
- Professional, friendly and approachable manner
- Ability to work effectively in a busy office environment
- Open to candidates from teaching assistants, learning support assistants, attendance officers, reception staff or other customer‑focused admin roles
