Security Engineer

About the role

SiXworks is seeking a Security Engineer to design, build, and deliver secure digital solutions for defence and national security missions. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and delivery specialists to create technology that enables faster, safer decision‑making for critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage credential lifecycle: create, import, rotate passwords, SSH keys and API keys; configure Remote Password Changing (RPC) and verify credential validity.
• Run discovery scans across Active Directory and network segments to identify privileged and service accounts, and map their usage in Windows Services, Scheduled Tasks, and IIS Application Pools.
• Maintain system security: apply patches, perform automated database backups, monitor Distributed Engines, and ensure secrets are correctly bound to launchers.
• Implement access governance through Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC), folder structures and granular permissions.
• Generate and review audit logs, configure privileged session recording, and monitor active sessions on high‑value assets.
• Troubleshoot firewall requests, load‑balancer configurations, and resolve RPC failures to prevent credential lockouts.
