Senior Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer – EV Charging

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer to lead the design and coordination of civil works for high‑power electric vehicle charging installations across the UK. You will work on projects from feasibility and concept design through to construction, supporting the transition to sustainable transport.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil infrastructure design for EV charging and related electrical projects.
• Produce and review site layouts, levels, equipment foundations, ducting networks and trenching plans.
• Interpret topographical, utility and GPR survey data to develop robust engineering solutions.
• Coordinate designs with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs and other utility stakeholders.
• Conduct design reviews and value‑engineering exercises to improve constructability and reduce costs.
• Manage multiple project design deliverables against programme schedules.
• Oversee outputs from external design consultancies where required.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve site‑based engineering challenges.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering civil infrastructure design projects, preferably in the EV charging sector.
• Strong understanding of ducting networks, trenching, foundations and utility interfaces.
• Proactive, technically strong and able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
