Senior Data Architect

About the role

You will lead the data modelling and architecture strategy for a modern Azure Data Lakehouse environment, delivering scalable, governed data solutions that support current reporting and future analytical use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and govern enterprise‑wide data models across Medallion Architecture layers.
• Create curated semantic and analytical models using dimensional modelling and Kimball methodologies.
• Define data‑modelling standards, governance frameworks and data‑feed specifications.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality data solutions.
• Influence wider business systems to embed data‑architecture principles.
• Produce architecture documentation, diagrams and data models while remaining hands‑on.
• Act as the technical authority for data‑architecture and modelling best practice.
• Support the evolution from operational reporting to predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience in data architecture and modelling within large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Proven expertise in dimensional modelling, star schemas and Kimball methodology.
• Experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture frameworks.
• Ability to build curated semantic layers on modern cloud data platforms.
• End‑to‑end data‑modelling from source systems through to analytics and reporting.
• Track record of defining and implementing data governance, standards and best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Lakehouse and cloud‑based data architecture.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, capable of influencing technical and non‑technical audiences.
