Senior Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

IG Group is seeking an experienced Senior Indirect Tax Manager to own the company’s global indirect tax compliance and provide advisory support as the business expands. Based in London, you will be the go‑to expert on VAT, GST and betting duty, working closely with Finance, Product and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage IG’s global indirect tax compliance programme, ensuring accurate and timely VAT/GST and Betting Duty filings across all jurisdictions.
• Provide commercially focused indirect tax advisory on new products, business initiatives and structural changes, partnering with Product and Finance teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of indirect tax processes and systems, including Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance and automation.
• Partner with Finance/FP&A to reflect indirect tax positions in financial reporting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Develop and maintain a robust indirect tax risk and controls framework to meet tax governance obligations worldwide.
• Line‑manage one mixed‑tax professional, fostering a high‑quality, delivery‑focused team culture.

Required profile

• Significant in‑house indirect tax experience, preferably within financial services or fintech.
• Deep technical knowledge of VAT/GST across multiple geographies and proven ability to manage global compliance programmes.
• Experience advising on indirect tax implications of new product development and geographic expansion.
• Track record of driving process improvement and implementing technology solutions for tax compliance and reporting.
• Experience managing external advisors and tax authority relationships, including audits and enquiries.
• Knowledge of e‑invoicing requirements and emerging global indirect tax trends.
