Shift Engineer

About the role

The Shift Engineer will join the Edmonton Operations team to safely maintain and improve automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and related equipment in a high‑volume beverage manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring system availability, reliability and performance while meeting quality, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise ASRS machinery and associated equipment within the automated warehouse.
• Perform preventive, corrective maintenance and safety inspections to keep the warehouse fully operational.
• Manage advanced maintenance plans, complete asset‑care tasks and meet KPI targets using the Central Maintenance Management System.
• Provide technical support for product/equipment changes and critical cleaning processes.
• Work at height (up to 40 m) and participate in the safety rescue team.
• Drive operational excellence by sharing best practices, innovating processes and ensuring zero‑accident behaviour.
• Record work through iPad/SAP PM, ensuring parts and costs are booked correctly.
• Mentor and coach operatives while supporting the overall supply‑chain operation.

Profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong experience in an industrial environment with proven diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience working and rescuing at height above 40 metres.
• Knowledge of machine operation, setting, adjustment and asset‑care.

Required skills

• Automation and PLC programming, preferably Siemens S7.
• Motion and process control experience.
• Understanding of PC‑based control systems, Warehouse Control System (WCS).
• Familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance (SAPPM), SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAPEWM) and SAP ECC.
• First Aid certification.
