Site Supervisor – Prison Refurbishment (HMP Boston)

About the role

The Site Supervisor will manage day‑to‑day construction activities on the HMP Boston refurbishment project. Working within a live prison environment, you will ensure that all works are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards while complying with strict security procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations and coordinate subcontractors across multiple trades.
• Manage internal and external upgrade works, including carpentry, fabric, and fire‑protection packages.
• Maintain site records, permits, RAMS and progress reports.
• Liaise with prison authorities, client representatives and project stakeholders.
• Control site logistics and security restrictions in a live custodial setting.
• Monitor programme delivery, quality standards and conduct toolbox talks, inspections and safety briefings.

Required profile

• Proven site management or supervisory experience in construction, refurbishment, FM or maintenance.
• Experience working in secure or live environments such as prisons, hospitals or MOD sites.
• Full right to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced prison security vetting.
• Clean criminal record with no convictions or cautions.
• Based within commuting distance of Lincoln.

Required skills

• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• First Aid at Work (desirable).
• CSCS Card (desirable).
• Working at Height certification (desirable).
• Hands‑on multi‑trade experience.
• Experience of internal refurbishment projects.
• Experience in custodial or secure environments.
