Solicitor – Property Risks & Coverage

About the role

This permanent, full‑time solicitor position supports the Property Risks and Coverage team. You will split your time between assisting senior lawyers on complex disputes and managing your own case load of property damage claims across commercial and domestic settings.

Key responsibilities

• Run an independent caseload of pre‑ and post‑litigation property damage files, adhering to court deadlines.
• Conduct court hearings, including proofs, and manage expert and counsel instructions.
• Carry out detailed quantum reviews, negotiate settlements and draft pleadings and other court documents.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, policyholders, witnesses and third parties throughout the claims process.
• Assist colleagues with their caseloads and perform any additional tasks required to efficiently manage your portfolio.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction at all levels.

Required skills

• Experience handling pre‑ and post‑litigation property damage claims.
• Experience with insurer‑funded property damage work.
• Proven ability to conduct court hearings up to proofs.
• Proficiency in drafting court documents and understanding litigation processes.
• Good literacy and IT skills.
