Tax Reporting Manager

About the role

The Tax Reporting Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping tax strategy, ensuring compliance and overseeing tax reporting across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the Group CFO, the role acts as the primary liaison with the European head office on tax and accounting matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage tax compliance and risk management for the region, adhering to local and international regulations.
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives, including group loss relief, transfer pricing and tax optimisation.
• Oversee tax reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to headquarters and statutory authorities.
• Govern internal and external audit programmes, maintaining effective controls and risk mitigation.
• Drive tax and compliance training across the region, building capability within finance teams.
• Maintain and improve tax and reporting systems, processes and manuals.
• Ensure full compliance with all direct and indirect tax obligations (corporation tax, VAT, RCT, CIS, etc.) for Northern Europe entities.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and consolidated tax packs for multiple entities and currencies.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and regulatory bodies, managing audit processes.
• Oversee deferred tax calculations and reconciliations between IFRS and local GAAP.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in tax compliance, risk management and strategic tax planning.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and local tax regulations across Northern Europe.
• Advanced analytical, reporting and communication abilities.
• Proven experience with finance systems implementation and change management.
