Test and Run Technician

About the role

The Test and Run Technician works in Speedy's Edinburgh depot, ensuring that hired equipment is safe, functional and ready for the next customer. This full‑time position involves basic electrical and mechanical testing, cleaning and servicing of returned tools and plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical tests on 12 V and 24 V systems.
• Carry out mechanical inspections and use hand tools to service equipment.
• Clean and prepare returned items to meet safety and presentation standards.
• Document test results and maintain accurate records.
• Support the depot team in delivering Speedy’s ESG strategy.

Required profile

• Basic electrical knowledge (12 V/24 V).
• Fundamental mechanical skills and confidence with tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Previous experience in hire, engineering or a related field is desirable.
