Waste Collection Operator

About the role

We are seeking a responsible and hardworking Waste Collection Operator to join our sanitation team. You will play a vital part in keeping public and residential areas clean, safe, and environmentally friendly by collecting and disposing of waste and recyclables efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and assist in the collection of waste and recyclables from residential, commercial, and public locations.
• Load and unload waste into collection vehicles, ensuring proper handling and disposal.
• Follow established routes and schedules for waste collection.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of collection vehicles and equipment.
• Report damaged bins, hazardous waste, or blocked collection areas to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations while handling waste materials.
• Assist in emergency cleanup operations after severe weather or special events.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
• Previous experience in waste collection, sanitation, or a related field is a plus.
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred for operating collection vehicles).
