1:1 Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Hackney. The role provides focused support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) across Key Stage 1 and 2, on a full‑time, term‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one learning support to SEN pupils, reinforcing classroom instruction.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support activities.
• Follow safeguarding policies and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and other staff to promote inclusive practice.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year experience supporting Key Stage 1 or 2 pupils in the UK.
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS with online update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
