1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Brentwood

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate to join a primary school in Brentwood as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work closely with specialist staff to support pupils with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for KS1 & KS2 pupils with behavioural and SEN requirements.
• Use creativity to engage and inspire pupils in the classroom.
• Make learning accessible for a range of SEN needs, including ASD, dyslexia and ADHD.
• Collaborate with behavioural therapists, specialist teachers and educational psychologists.
• Utilise specialist equipment and resources to enhance pupil progress.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Psychology, Criminology, Social Sciences or related field.
• Understanding of SEN principles and practices.
• Experience working with children, either personally or professionally.
• Strong communication skills.
