Accounts and Tax Manager

About the role

Our client, a growing accountancy practice in Banbury, is seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager to lead their rural accounts and advisory team. The role involves delivering bespoke accounting and tax planning services to a diverse portfolio of landed estates, farms, equine and bloodstock businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of rural clients, conduct meetings, approve tax computations and deliver complex tax advisory outcomes.
• Maintain technical knowledge, produce robust advisory reports and ensure compliance with the firm’s Service Charter.
• Develop and lead the team through performance reviews, feedback, delegation and training.
• Drive process efficiency, oversee work‑in‑progress, billing, compliance trackers and support client onboarding.
• Identify business development opportunities, support partners on complex matters and represent the firm at external events.
• Collaborate with other departments on best‑practice and technology initiatives.

Required profile

• ACCA, ACA and/or CTA qualified.
• Proven experience in accounting and tax advisory for rural or agricultural clients.
• Strong client‑facing skills and ability to develop junior staff.
