Accounts Assistant – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established business in Croydon for an Accounts Assistant on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive finance team, gaining valuable experience in a thriving organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Process and maintain the purchase ledger.
• Manage the sales ledger.
• Post and allocate cash receipts and payments.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end finance processes.
• Resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50.
• Provide general support to the finance department as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or in a similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50.
• Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash posting and reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
