Accounts & Audit Director – Senior Manager (RI)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Director to lead a diverse portfolio of audit and accounts clients for a progressive accountancy practice in London. The role combines statutory audit responsibility with strategic client advisory, offering a clear path to Director level.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and sign off statutory audits as the Responsible Individual (RI), ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Manage a varied portfolio of SME and mid‑market clients across multiple sectors, reviewing year‑end accounts and delivering high‑quality financial statements.
• Mentor and develop managers and senior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic insights, technical guidance and commercial recommendations to clients.
• Contribute to business development, tendering processes and strengthening client relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with significant post‑qualification experience.
• Current Responsible Individual (RI) status.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, ISA standards and audit regulation.
• Proven experience managing audit and accounts teams within a practice.
• Excellent communication, leadership and client‑relationship skills.
