Accounts Payable Clerk – Temporary (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading social housing provider in Bristol to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk on a temporary basis. The role is hybrid, requiring office attendance twice a week, and offers an hourly rate of £17.80 (umbrella) with the possibility of flexibility based on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the purchase ledger from invoice authorisation through to supplier payment.
• Produce payment runs and process BACS payments.
• Create new supplier accounts and maintain existing details.
• Handle end‑to‑end processing of direct debit invoices and credit‑card expenditure.
• Reconcile supplier statements and journal petty‑cash transactions.
• Respond to internal and external queries related to accounts payable.

Required profile

• Recent experience in all areas of accounts payable.
• Experience within a housing association is desirable.
• AAT qualification is desirable.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel capabilities, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

What we offer

• Hybrid working arrangement.
• 35‑hour week, Monday‑Friday, 9am‑5pm.
• Potential extension beyond the initial end date of 31 August.
