Accounts Semi‑Senior – Bookkeeping & Tax Role

About the role

Join a small but growing practice near Alton, supporting the team manager and partner in delivering a diverse portfolio of client services. This semi‑senior position blends bookkeeping, tax work, audit assistance and client interaction within a friendly, hybrid‑working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Manage bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns with reconciliations.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns; assist with personal tax returns for directors and individuals.
• Support senior staff on tax planning and advisory projects.
• Participate in statutory audits for small and medium‑sized businesses, testing controls and preparing audit working papers.
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries and build strong relationships.

Required profile

• Studying towards ACA, ACCA or AAT (part‑qualified or finalist).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles.
• Good IT skills with proficiency in accounting software.
• Ability to work under supervision and communicate professionally with clients.
