Accounts & Tax Senior

About the role

You will join a growing Chartered Accountancy practice in London, working with a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, limited companies and entrepreneurial clients. The position blends accounts preparation, tax compliance and client interaction, offering a clear pathway towards future managerial responsibilities. Hybrid working is available after a successful probation period, with occasional travel to the Tunbridge Wells office.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for a diverse client base.
• Assist with corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to clients and answer queries.
• Support managers with portfolio administration and deadline management.
• Review bookkeeping records and flag areas needing attention.
• Handle HMRC submissions and ensure statutory compliance.
• Mentor trainees and share knowledge where appropriate.
• Participate in advisory assignments as experience grows.

Required profile

• Experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA, or qualified by experience.
• Strong client‑relationship skills and organisational ability.
• Desire to develop technical expertise within a progressive firm.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as Xero.
• Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as Sage.
• Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks.

What we offer

• Salary between £35,000 and £48,000 per year, dependent on experience.
