Accounts Trainee / Junior Accountant – £25,000‑£30,000 (DOE)

About the role

We are supporting a friendly, close‑knit accountancy firm in Manchester that is looking for an Accounts Trainee/Junior Accountant. This role is ideal for an AAT‑qualified or ACCA‑part‑qualified professional who wants to develop expertise in accounts preparation and tax within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and LLPs.
• Produce VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounts for a varied client base.
• Assist with corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
• Build strong client relationships and respond to day‑to‑day queries.
• Collaborate with managers and the director across a broad range of assignments.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or ACCA part‑qualified.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive and client‑focused approach.

• Sage.
• Microsoft Excel.
