About the role

Join the NHS Ayrshire & Arran team in a vital administrative capacity within the Mental Health Services. As the primary point of contact for Senior Charge Nurses, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operational running of our inpatient hospital environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Charge Nurses within the Business Administration service.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the nursing leadership, managing inquiries and communications professionally.
  • Maintain and manage complex databases with high accuracy.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks within a fast-paced mental health and social care partnership setting.
  • Ensure all sensitive information is handled with strict confidentiality in compliance with GDPR.

Candidate Profile

  • Internal candidate: This position is exclusively open to current employees of NHS Ayrshire & Arran and/or NHS Scotland.
  • Qualified professional: Must hold an SVQ Level II in Administration/IT or possess equivalent professional experience.
  • Reliable and autonomous: Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Mobile: A valid UK driving license is desirable to facilitate travel between different Ayrshire & Arran sites.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong database management and maintenance capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational abilities.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and discretion regarding confidential data.
