Agency Social Worker – Permanence Team (Leicestershire)

About the role
This temporary full‑time position supports Leicestershire County Council’s Permanence service, helping children move towards adoption. You will work closely with field teams, managers and support staff to ensure smooth placement journeys.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the child’s journey from adoption consideration to placement order, coordinating matching and introductions.
- Prepare and submit Child Permanence Reports and Sibling Assessments for court proceedings.
- Provide detailed analysis of each child’s needs to inform matching and support.
- Manage a caseload weighted to approximately 20 full‑time equivalents, adjusting for CPR and matching factors.
- Collaborate with adoption assessment and post‑order teams, as well as support workers.
- Spend two days per week in the office while undertaking field work as required.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a local authority setting.
- Extensive experience in childcare social work, including adoption, family finding and matching.
- Demonstrated ability to produce robust reports and manage complex cases.
