AI Engineer

About the role

Barclays is seeking an AI Engineer to develop and implement machine learning and AI solutions that enhance detection of financial crime, prevent fraud, and protect customers. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers and senior technical colleagues to deliver scalable AI pipelines and production‑grade models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy modular Python applications and Generative AI solutions using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Strands SDK, Anthropic SDK, AWS Bedrock or CrewAI.
• Build and maintain end‑to‑end ML pipelines, including data exploration, model training, evaluation, deployment and monitoring, adhering to governance and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with technology teams to define data, environment and tooling dependencies for analytical solutions.
• Document and validate analytics and modelling solutions, ensuring conformance with Barclays Model Risk Policy.

Required profile

• Strong experience developing scalable, maintainable Python applications.
• Proven track record delivering well‑tested Generative AI applications and ML models in production.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders in a regulated financial services environment.
