Airframe Data Scientist Placement – 12.5‑month Internship

About the role

Join the Applied AI Methods & Services team at Airbus in Filton to support the development and deployment of digital tools for airframe engineering. This 12.5‑month placement offers hands‑on experience in data science, AI, and process optimisation within a global aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Process, Method and Tools initiatives for engineering development, plant engineering, ramp‑up, standardisation and quality.
• Investigate available data to solve engineering problems and create digital solutions.
• Attend team, local and transnational meetings, represent the team and review actions.
• Provide support, coaching, benchmarks, validation, acceptance and performance testing of new processes and tools.
• Collaborate with experts to develop innovative digital solutions for the Airframe community.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Experience in data preparation, cleaning, visualisation and statistical analysis.
• Ability to work autonomously, be curious and solve problems.
