Apprentice HGV Technician

About the role

Grundon is seeking a motivated Apprentice Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technician to join its workshop in Ewelme. Working under the guidance of the Workshop Manager and a partner college, you will combine classroom learning with hands‑on experience to achieve a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities

• Attend college regularly and complete required training modules.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and assessments.
• Prepare vehicles daily, ensuring they are clean and ready for scheduled maintenance.
• Assist senior technicians with vehicle inspections, breakdown repairs, and routine maintenance of the company fleet.
• Safely store, care for, and use tools and equipment.
• Follow company processes, SOPs and risk assessments, reporting incidents and near‑misses.
• Adapt working hours as needed and provide occasional cover at other sites.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, dynamic and willing to learn.
• Ability to attend college and work Monday‑Friday 7:00‑16:30 with alternate Saturdays 7:00‑11:30.
• Flexibility to adjust hours based on age and business needs.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
