Architect / Senior Architect

About the role

An established AJ100 multidisciplinary practice is expanding its Manchester team and is looking for an Architect or Senior Architect to join an exciting and growing workload. The practice works on high-profile, technically complex projects across Advanced Manufacturing, Science & Technology, Defence, Education and Workplace, collaborating with architects, engineers, project managers, building surveyors and specialist consultants. For a Senior Architect there is scope to lead project teams, develop client relationships, support business development and mentor juniors; at Architect level you will take responsibility for project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate architectural projects through multiple design and delivery stages.
• Develop design and technical information using Revit, and prepare technical drawing packages, specifications and project documentation.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across architecture, engineering and specialist consultancy.
• Develop client relationships, support business development, bids and key client pursuits, and lead or contribute to client presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage planning applications, Building Regulations submissions and statutory approvals, and undertake site inspections.
• Help manage project programmes, resources and budgets, and mentor junior architects and technicians.

Required profile

• ARB-registered or RIBA Chartered Architect, depending on level.
• Proven experience in a UK architectural practice, with strong technical design and project delivery experience.
• Good knowledge of UK planning processes, Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, and excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Advantageous: experience on complex, highly regulated or technically demanding projects, and for Senior Architects, experience leading projects and teams and supporting business development.

Required skills

• Revit proficiency is essential.
• Experience producing detailed technical drawing packages, specifications and project information.
