Area Sales Manager – Timber Products

About the role

The Area Sales Manager – Timber Products will lead external field sales across the South East, promoting a broad portfolio of timber and sheet‑material solutions to contractors, builders and fitters. You will operate from a dedicated branch, supported by internal teams, and aim to generate approximately £2 million in turnover within the first year.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and grow a pre‑existing customer base of tier‑1, 2 and 3 contractors, sub‑contractors and shop fitters.
• Upsell and cross‑sell the full range of timber, MDF, OSB, decking, cladding and related products.
• Maintain strong relationships with main contractors, D&B firms, housebuilders and regional suppliers.
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to branch revenue goals.
• Provide accurate market feedback to product and marketing teams.

Required profile

• Proven track record selling timber or related construction products.
• Existing contacts and a solid customer base within the construction sector.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information.
• Self‑motivated, relationship‑focused and able to work independently in the field.

Required skills

• Computer literate (ability to use standard office and CRM software).
