Assistant Manager – Major Projects Advisory

About the role

KPMG’s Major Projects Advisory team helps leading organisations navigate complex, large‑scale infrastructure and construction projects. As an Assistant Manager you will join a specialist group in London, Manchester or Birmingham, working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic advice and assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial and cost‑management advice on diverse construction and infrastructure programmes.
• Support senior executives, boards and Senior Responsible Owners with clear, data‑driven recommendations.
• Analyse project data quickly to identify causal factors and cost drivers.
• Manage monthly delivery rhythms, ensuring deadlines are met and high‑quality outputs are produced.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across sectors such as transport, power, health and housing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost and commercial management, advisory or assurance on construction/infrastructure projects.
• Background in commercial management, quantity surveying, project controls, or civil/mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Client‑facing experience with senior stakeholders in political or confidential environments.
• Strong analytical ability to assess new situations and data rapidly.
• Demonstrated capability to manage regular delivery cycles and maintain quality standards.
