Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing Refurbishments

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support a leading social‑housing contractor on refurbishment projects across Hertfordshire. The role focuses on planned maintenance, internal and external works, and decarbonisation schemes, providing commercial support to the senior Quantity Surveyor.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead Quantity Surveyor with cash management, including applications, certifications, invoicing and payments.
• Administer subcontractor accounts and ensure accurate financial records.
• Prepare and update budgets, forecasts, CVRs, supplementary financial reports and final accounts.
• Support commercial administration for the wider team, including documentation and reporting.
• Contribute to continuous training and development initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience on refurbishment projects, preferably within social housing.
• Familiarity with managing subcontractors and processing payments.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Coins estimating and cost‑management software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
