Assistant Site Manager

About the role

Croudace Homes is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the day‑to‑day delivery of a timber‑frame residential development in Didcot, South Oxfordshire. You will work closely with the site team to ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule targets are met while contributing to a positive on‑site culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating contractors, sub‑contractors and site operatives.
• Manage inductions for all personnel and visitors.
• Organise daily site operations across construction and general site management.
• Monitor health & safety and environmental compliance, adhering to NHBC and building regulations.
• Control material usage, aligning deliveries with the development budget.
• Attend regular site meetings and conduct ongoing site inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the residential property or house‑building sector in a similar role.
• Construction‑related qualification (e.g., HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3+ in Site Supervision or Construction Management) is desirable.
• Strong understanding of NHBC standards, building regulations and health & safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with the site team, contractors and customers.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and manage time constraints effectively.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with construction management software.
