Associate Director/Director of Corporate Finance – Special Situations

About the role

FRP Advisory is seeking an experienced Associate Director or Director to lead special situations corporate finance transactions. The successful candidate will work on complex buy‑side and sell‑side deals, providing strategic advice to clients facing financial distress.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage special situations M&A transactions from inception to completion.
• Conduct financial analysis, due diligence, valuation and prepare client presentations.
• Negotiate deal terms and structure transactions to maximise client value.
• Assess distressed companies, identify opportunities and coordinate insolvency proceedings with legal and financial advisors.
• Build and maintain senior client relationships, delivering tailored advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to firm growth.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience in corporate finance, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Proven track record of managing special situations or distressed M&A transactions.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial structures.
• Excellent client‑facing abilities and a commercial mindset.
• Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
