Associate – Investment Banking M&A, Consumer & Retail

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global investment bank to recruit a Junior Associate for its Consumer & Retail Investment Banking team in London. You will support high‑profile M&A, strategic advisory and capital‑raising transactions for both public and private clients, gaining exposure to senior bankers and complex deal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support execution of M&A transactions and strategic advisory mandates.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses and transaction materials.
• Prepare client presentations, pitch books, information memoranda and board materials.
• Conduct industry, company and market research across the consumer and retail landscape.
• Assist with due‑diligence processes and coordinate transaction workstreams.
• Analyse financial statements and business performance to underpin strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal product teams and sector specialists on live transactions and pitches.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance or related M&A work.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic achievement.
• Previous exposure to consumer, retail, leisure or e‑commerce sectors is advantageous.
• Experience with cross‑border transactions and complex strategic advisory assignments is a plus.
