Associate – TMT (Relationship Management)

About the role

Barclays is recruiting an Associate in its International Corporate Bank, within the Consumer, Retail, Healthcare, TMT, Hospitality and Leisure sector, based in its London office. The role sits in Relationship Management and supports Relationship Directors with multinational, industry-leading clients by providing treasury solutions and relationship lending. It is a permanent position requiring regular client visits and in-office presence of at least four days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Support client coverage teams and Relationship Directors in building and maintaining relationships with corporate and individual clients, and in driving business growth.
• Work with clients' Treasury teams and senior leadership to understand their strategic, financial and risk priorities, and support the internal workstream delivering tailored solutions.
• Manage client communications and negotiations on product fit, structure, pricing and relationship returns to deepen wallet penetration.
• Take part in business development and projects supporting team growth, product penetration campaigns and sector thought leadership.
• Analyse client data such as investment portfolios and cash flows to identify trends, needs and additional services.
• Research industry trends, regulatory landscape and competition to inform strategic recommendations, and design customised solutions combining products and services.
• Negotiate terms, give investment, risk management and wealth management guidance, and document client interactions and agreements.
• Monitor client satisfaction, revenue and other metrics, and work with KYC, customer due diligence and operations to keep compliance and banking running smoothly.

Required profile

• Proven experience interacting with multinational clients and handling complex relationships.
• Client-first mindset, strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication.
• Self-motivated, collaborative and able to work to tight deadlines.
• Desirable: experience structuring deals, pricing models, credit grading and income drivers; good awareness of investment banking products.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of treasury products: Cash Management, Wholesale Lending, Trade Finance, FX, Risk Management, Debt Capital Markets.
• Considerable credit skills and ability to analyse client financials and spot early signs of distress.
• Understanding of international corporate banking themes, risks and opportunities.
• Desirable: Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
