Audit & Accounts Director / Partner Designate (RI status)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Director to join a fast‑growing regional accountancy firm in London. Reporting to the Senior Partners, the role combines portfolio management, team leadership and a clear pathway to partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of OMBs/SMEs, including limited companies, PE‑backed firms and partnerships with turnover up to £150m.
• Oversee complex audits and account preparation, ensuring compliance with UK Accounting Standards and internal policies.
• Lead audit teams, plan staffing, and present final audit files to C‑suite clients.
• Plan and deliver special projects within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Set objectives, conduct appraisals and drive staff growth for the office.
• Engage in business development to expand the firm’s client base across Greater London.
• Act as primary contact for senior client executives (CFO/CEO) and promote additional service lines.
• Participate in weekly board meetings to shape growth strategy, staffing and marketing.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant (RI status preferred).
• Extensive external audit experience with a track record of managing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and ambition to drive revenue growth.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the potential to become an equity partner within 12‑18 months.
