Audit Partner – Brighton (Hybrid, Competitive Salary)

About the role

We're recruiting an experienced Audit Partner or Audit Director to join a growing accountancy practice in Brighton. This role offers a leading position in client delivery, audit quality, team leadership and business development across a varied portfolio of SMEs, mid‑market businesses and larger groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a portfolio of audit and assurance engagements.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.
• Deliver high‑quality audits in line with UK GAAP, IFRS and professional standards.
• Act as a trusted adviser, providing commercially focused insight to clients.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Lead, mentor and develop audit teams.
• Drive audit quality, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the audit practice.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Significant post‑qualified external audit experience.
• Proven experience leading audits and managing client relationships.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards.
• Experience with SMEs, owner‑managed businesses and/or larger groups.
• Strong commercial awareness and business development skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
• Experience managing and developing audit teams.
• RI status, or willingness to obtain it.
• Entrepreneurial and proactive approach with ambition to contribute at Partner level.
