Audit Partner – Portsmouth (Hybrid, Competitive Salary)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Partner or Audit Director to join our growing accountancy practice in Portsmouth. This senior position offers a hybrid and flexible working environment, competitive partner‑level remuneration, and the chance to shape the future of the audit practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a portfolio of audit and assurance engagements for SMEs, mid‑market businesses and larger groups.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships while delivering high‑quality audits in line with UK GAAP, IFRS and professional standards.
• Act as a trusted adviser, providing commercially focused insight and identifying new business opportunities.
• Mentor, develop and manage audit teams, driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the audit practice.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Significant post‑qualified external audit experience.
• Proven track record of leading audits and managing client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• RI status, or willingness to obtain it.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with ambition to contribute at partner level.

Required skills

• ACA/ACCA qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
• In‑depth understanding of audit standards.
