Audit Semi‑Senior – Chartered Accountants (Reading)

About the role

Our client, a respected mid‑tier firm of Chartered Accountants in Reading, is looking for an Audit Semi‑Senior to join their thriving Audit & Assurance team. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality audit and accounting services to a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits in line with auditing standards and statutory requirements.
• Prepare financial statements, management accounts and other financial reports.
• Assist in planning and executing audit engagements, including risk assessment and testing.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and address queries.
• Identify process‑improvement and efficiency opportunities within audit and accounting procedures.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry developments affecting audit practice.
• Support senior team members on ad‑hoc assignments and projects.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a reputable accounting firm.
• Solid understanding of auditing principles and financial reporting standards.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
