Audit Senior Manager – Lead Audit Teams & Client Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Senior Manager to lead a diverse client portfolio and high‑performing audit teams for a well‑established professional services firm in Wilmslow. This senior leadership position offers the chance to influence business growth while delivering high‑quality audit services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of audit clients across multiple sectors.
• Oversee planning, execution and completion of audit assignments.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory and professional standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for key client relationships.
• Review financial statements and audit files prepared by the team.
• Provide technical guidance and support to audit staff.
• Manage, develop and mentor junior team members.
• Identify business development and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement within the audit function.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience at Audit Manager or Senior Manager level within practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK audit and accounting standards.
• Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and leading audit teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
