Automatic Door Engineer – Up to £22/hr + Overtime

About the role

We are seeking an Automatic Door Engineer to join our client’s growing team in the North East of England. The role involves installing, servicing and maintaining a variety of automated door systems across multiple sites on a full‑time, permanent basis.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, repair and fault‑find automated doors at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure high quality workmanship.
• Communicate effectively with customers and provide timely updates.
• Support fellow team members and share knowledge where required.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• At least 3 years’ experience in the automatic door sector (preferred but not mandatory).
• Positive attitude, self‑motivated and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Installation of automated door systems.
• Repair and fault‑finding of door mechanisms.
• Routine maintenance of various manufacturers’ equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., BS EN16005) and certifications such as IPAF, CSCS/ECS, ADSA/ADIA, City & Guilds.
