Average Adjuster - Marine Claims

About the role

Sedgwick is looking for an Average Adjuster in London, a specialist technical role supporting shipowners, insurers and brokers worldwide in resolving marine insurance claims. The post is permanent, with competitive pay and flexible working options, either from the central London office or remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the client's trusted advisor, guiding them through complex claims processes
• Interpret policy wordings and calculate policy liabilities
• Analyse facts and adjust claims to reach correct and equitable settlements
• Collaborate with legal and industry experts to resolve disputes
• Communicate clearly with shipowners, insurers, brokers and legal professionals and negotiate fair settlements

Required profile

• Prior experience in marine insurance, claims handling or average adjusting is essential
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex details clearly
• Analytical, detail-oriented and conscientious, able to maintain high standards during periods of high claim volume
