It is based in London with remote working available.
Key responsibilities
- Research FX markets and currency risk management using advanced quantitative, statistical, machine learning and AI techniques.
- Analyse structured, semi-structured and unstructured data to find insights, signals and opportunities for improving risk management strategies and analytics.
- Research and evaluate developments in quantitative finance, AI and machine learning and apply them to real-world financial market problems.
- Develop research prototypes and analytical workflows in Python.
- Occasionally support deploying successful research into production with technology teams; the focus is quantitative research rather than software engineering.
- Stay up to date with financial markets, quantitative research, AI and machine learning.

- BSc/MSc in a technical degree such as Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics or Engineering.
- Demonstrable interest in FX, financial markets, quantitative investing or risk management.
Required skills
- Strong Python, including NumPy, Pandas and scikit-learn, and data structures, algorithms and computational complexity.
- Machine learning and AI experience, or strong ability and willingness to learn new techniques quickly.
- Strong analytical skills: formulating hypotheses, testing ideas rigorously and interpreting empirical results.
Desirable skills
- Financial time-series analysis or quantitative research experience.
- Agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, RAG, graph databases or knowledge graphs.
- Cloud services, preferably AWS, Docker and basic deployment workflows.
- Relational and NoSQL databases.
What we offer
- Competitive salary with annual reviews.
- 25 days' paid leave plus an extra day per year of service.
- Staff development, training and involvement in key projects.
- Flexible working including remote working.
- Medical and dental insurance, EV and cycle-to-work schemes, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and a day off for charity work each quarter.
