Band 5 Paediatric Staff Nurse – Ward 3B

About the role

We are seeking a Band 5 Paediatric Staff Nurse to join Ward 3B at the Royal Hospital for Children. The role is full‑time, permanent and provides care for surgical and gastro‑enterology patients in a 24‑bed unit, supporting a family‑centred approach.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient needs in partnership with children, families and carers.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation meets required standards.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, considering staff capability and skill mix.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote best practice and seamless care between hospital and community services.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and contribute to the development of care programmes.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid/live NMC PIN.
• Paediatric training and experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
