Band 5 Staff Nurse – Inpatient Unit

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our In‑Patient Unit. You will become part of a multi‑professional team delivering high‑quality palliative care to patients with life‑limiting conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based, individualised specialist palliative nursing care to in‑patients.
• Work a rotating shift pattern that includes days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Adhere to statutory regulations and hospice policies while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
• Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals and support staff to ensure coordinated care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with a current licence to practice.
• Previous experience in palliative or hospice care is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Willingness to undergo a Criminal Records check via Disclosure Scotland.

Required skills

• Understanding of palliative care principles and practices.
• Ability to deliver specialist nursing interventions safely.
• Familiarity with hospice policies and statutory healthcare regulations.
