Behaviour Specialist – SEMH Schools (Skelmersdale)

About the role
We are looking for a passionate Behaviour Specialist to support pupils in SEMH schools in Skelmersdale. You will work closely with teachers, SEN teams and external professionals to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted behaviour support strategies for students with SEMH needs.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions.
- Support implementation of behaviour management plans and risk assessments.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
- Monitor, record and report on pupil behaviour and progress.
- Assist with de‑escalation and promote emotional regulation techniques.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
- Calm, resilient and patient under pressure.
- Confident in behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques.
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
