Board Member – Senior Independent Director & Chair of Services Committee

About the role

Community Led Housing is seeking up to three new board colleagues to help shape its strategy, strengthen governance and support the future of community‑led housing. The appointments include a Senior Independent Director, a Chair of the Services Committee and a Board Member, each serving a three‑year term.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and ensure high standards of governance as a non‑executive board member.
• For the Chair of Services Committee, oversee landlord and client services, safety, performance improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of CDS’s long‑term strategy and policy decisions.
• Participate in regular board meetings in SE1 (London) and virtual committee meetings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated strategic judgement and commitment to the social purpose of community‑led housing.
• Experience of board service or senior leadership in public or private sectors.
• Background in governance, law, IT, cybersecurity, customer service, communications or housing is desirable.
• Ability to bring diverse perspectives and promote inclusive decision‑making.

Required skills

What we offer

• Annual remuneration: Senior Independent Director – £3,174; Chair of Services Committee – £3,174; Board Member – £2,540.
• Three‑year fixed‑term appointment, renewable for a maximum of six years.
