About the role
We are seeking an experienced Brand Director on a 6‑month contract to lead a comprehensive brand transformation for a leading retail bank. This senior position will operate in a hybrid model, combining on‑site collaboration in London with remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a full brand diagnostic covering internal, external, competitive, cultural and commercial dimensions.
- Define a future‑state brand strategy aligned with the bank’s corporate ambition, including positioning, architecture and experience principles.
- Embed the brand as a strategic decision framework and translate strategy into repeatable, practical tools used across the organisation.
- Build the commercial case for brand as an enterprise asset, linking brand investment to trust, loyalty and long‑term value.
- Lead the evolution of visual identity, tone of voice and the brand ecosystem across all channels.
- Create a scalable brand system that balances consistency with innovation, producing assets, identity systems and messaging architecture.
- Develop KPIs that connect brand investment to commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment to embed the brand across functions.
- Act as chief storyteller, aligning customer, corporate and colleague brand narratives.
- Manage relationships with design and strategic partners, overseeing agency selection and performance.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading enterprise‑level brand transformations, preferably in trust‑based sectors such as banking.
- Strategic brand leadership at the intersection of corporate strategy and commercial results.
- Strong track record influencing senior leadership and navigating complex, ambiguous environments.
- Ability to translate brand strategy into scalable frameworks and execution plans.
Required skills
- Deep understanding of brand strategy, positioning and architecture models.
- Experience with B2C and B2B brand development across digital and physical touchpoints.
- Knowledge of brand operating models, governance structures and change management.
- Expertise in agency partnership and ecosystem management.
