Business Development Manager - Courier

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth for our courier division in Southampton. The role combines strategic prospecting with hands‑on sales to expand our domestic and international parcel portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new business across multiple industry sectors.
• Generate leads through networking, referrals and market research, and maintain a robust pipeline.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations and site visits to capture requirements.
• Prepare competitive proposals, negotiate contracts and pricing to maximise revenue.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
• Achieve agreed sales targets, KPIs and revenue objectives.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development or field sales within courier, parcels, logistics, transport or supply‑chain sectors.
• Demonstrated success in winning new business and meeting sales targets.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Self‑motivated, resilient and results‑driven.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
