Night Traffic Operator

About the role

We are seeking a Night Traffic Operator to manage overnight container vehicle bookings and transport operations in Southampton. The role offers a competitive salary of £35‑38k plus on‑call bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Manage container vehicle booking systems (VBS) for port collections and deliveries, ensuring slots are booked efficiently.
• Plan and schedule drivers and company vehicles for overnight transport.
• Supervise and support drivers during night operations, acting as the main point of contact for queries.
• Monitor vehicle movements, respond to delays, breakdowns and operational changes.
• Provide performance updates to management and report issues arising during shifts.

Required profile

• Good understanding of the local geographical area.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritise duties under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficient IT skills, with experience using TOPS.
• Experience with VBS booking system and route planning.
